About FunnyFiska...

Hey PostCrossers!

FunnyFiska here. It's a completely nonsensical nickname I made up for myself - well, alright, sure I suppose it does mean 'funny fish', but it has no significance whatsoever other than sounding vaguely nice.

I have had a strong fascination for the North and South Poles since I read Fridtjof Nansen's Farthest North, and it has become one of my dreams to be able to visit and land on Antarctica one day. 2011 marked the 100th anniversary of Amundsen's South Pole achievement, and the 150th anniversary of Nansen's birth, so it would be especially lovely to receive postcards about the Poles! (Or from the Poles ;D If you're a Pole that's OK too)

As for sports, I follow Formula One - not that much of a hardcore fan though, since I only started in 2008. I'm quite fond of Sebastian Vettel, not only for his speed and looks but also for his amazing personality, his Top Gear interview's proven him to be a top bloke, too. Haven't got an excellent start to the 2012 season so far, but it's still early, hope it'll change for the better!

I'd also love to receive postcards with these themes:
- military
- uniforms of any kind
- airports/airplanes
- any sort of flags (even Semaphore)
- Morse code (I only know S, O, K, U and M...)
- computer games
- though anything else you've got is fine by me, too!

I don't mind receiving postcards in your native language - in fact, I think it'd be most interesting, though you'd have to provide a translation! I'm interested in languages to some degree, though I'm not very good at learning them...

You can also talk about your everyday life - I'm curious about how people live and work in other countries, which is why I'm a self-professed webcam voyeur. Not in the dirty sense! Webcams that show locations in cities and on ships, etc.

Oh, I'm a geohasher, too! Perhaps you too might be a geohasher or are interested in trying out geohashing? :D

I hope to have a great time PostCrossing!

Love,
FF
