Hi there!

I'm a new member since August 2009. I'm Evelien, 28 y.o. from Belgium.

I'm not fussy about which type of postcards I want to receive...anything will do. But, NO FREE ADVERTISEMENT CARDS OR SELFMADE CARDS PLEASE. I don't generally like them.

I'm looking forward to receiving many postcards already. It's just so exciting to not know where the postcard is going to be coming from. :D You can write in all the languages mentioned in my profile, I'll understand it. :)
Japanese postcrossers, please write some kana & kanji, I would love to try and decipher it. I know some basic Japanese words and phrases. ;)

In case you're out of inspiration :

- Any postcard with THE BEATLES on it would totally make my day! :D
- "Nouvelles Images" cards
- Chinese/Japanese art, script or calligraphy
- Japanese sakura (cherry blossoms), or everything "kawaii" from Japan :P
- I also love cards with ladybugs/ladybirds (the red insects with the black dots) on them very much and the "Play with your food" cards.
- another favourite of mine are black and white cards, where only a small part (a flower, an animal, anything) is highlighted in colour.
- map cards
- Metro/subway/underground map cards are also appreciated.
- I love cards with European robins on them (the birds with a red chest). They're so cute!
- movie posters (especially well-known movies, American blockbusters, Tom Hanks movies)
- Garfield
- But if you don't have any of the above, viewcards are okay too (multiview or single view, doesn't matter). But I prefer non-touristy cards.
- Or anything else you would like to send...

What else do I love?
*Languages! I'm a total language geek. If I could I'd learn many more (Japanese, for example). I am totally not good at maths or sciences, but languages have no secrets for me. :)

*the sixties...music wise I'm a sixties kind of girl. My favourite artists are The Beatles (and Paul McCartney solo) and Simon & Garfunkel. I have every album and would listen to them 365 days in the year if I could.

*tv and movies...I love American tv shows and movies, I watch way too many! My favourite actors are Tom Hanks, Edward Norton and Jensen Ackles (from the tv show Supernatural).

*books...I love to read. My favourite book in the whole world is Charlotte Brönte's Jane Eyre. I try to re-read it at least once a year. I've also seen the many tv and movie adaptations of this work.
I like classic novels, thrillers, horror, historical novels, Harry Potter, etc.

*the internet...can't survive without it.

P.S. I register all my cards on the same day I receive them. So if you're wondering why your card is taking so long to arrive, I really haven't received it yet for some reason.
