About Bartek...
Hi,
I'm Bartek and I live in a small town Pruszcz Gdański, 10 km from Gdańsk - the largest city on the Polish Baltic Sea. I come from a small village near the largest castle in the world - the Teutonic Knights Castle in Malbork.
I live with my girlfriend, five cats and tons of the books lying around the house. I like reading books, lots and lots of reading, especially fantasy books. I also love taking pictures, especially during the exploration of abandoned places, ruins and military facilities. The most interesting journey, which I attended and took photos of, was a trip to Chernobyl and the anbandoned city Pripyat.
You can send me any postcard you like, but I really love receiving postcards presenting this themes:
- Views of abandoned cities, places, houses, etc.;
- Nuclear power plants;
- Military facilities;
- Castles, temples, cathedrals;
- Ruins;
- Beautiful breathtaking landscapes and views of nature;
- Mountains, volcanos;
- Famous buildings, monuments;
- Your country, city;
- Gotochi Cards;
- Maxicards;
- Steampunk;
- Old maps;
- Reprints of old or vintage postcards;
- Propaganda;
- Wolves, coyotes, foxes;
- Cats (but please, rather not sweetie, cutie...);
- Something weird, bizarre, unusual, scary;
- Girls reading books;
- Alice in Wonderland by Arthur Rackham;
- Inge Löök;
- Thomas Kinkade;
- Something from my favourite postcards gallery.
A few words about adding to favorites: I'll add to favorites both cards I've received and cards that I haven't. If you want to make me happy with one of those, please check that I'm not on the "to" side :)
I'm not too fond of receiving ad- or freecards, multiviews, handmade postcards, Happy Birthday/Christmas/New Year/Easter cards. I'll be very happy if you keep those types of postcards for those who appreciate them more ;).
But if you're not sure, what to send, just choose a postcard you like yourself :). Don't send them in an envelope, please, I prefer postcards written and stamped. Unusual stamps are welcome too :). If you are going to send me a postcard, please consider: This may be the first (and perhaps the only) view on your country, that I ever get. What shall I think: That your country is boring and your people don't care? Or that it is beautiful and the people amiable?
Please send me a postcard ONLY FROM YOUR COUNTRY (with matching ID). For example if the ID is from country X, please, do not send me postcard showing country Y ;).
Please, write something on the card. I would be grateful if you write something about yourself, your interest, the day on which you sent me, what good (or bad, if you would like to mention) happened to you this day. I would like to collect the memories of everyday people around the world. I'd also love it if you could write something about your city, town, country that is not often mentioned in travel guides. The more you write, the better!
