About me:

I work part time in a college library. My major passion is languages and linguistics. In 2015 I finished a 6-year part-time degree in language studies (German, English language studies, and Classical Latin). I now have two very fatiguing chronic illnesses and mostly use a power-assisted wheelchair to get around.

I used to like hiking, camping, cycling, driving, taekwondo, swimming, and visiting places of historic interest but because of my illnesses I can't do much any more. Now, when I have some energy, I enjoy learning languages and reading about linguistics, playing German-style board games, doing photography, playing hammered dulcimer, and looking after my houseplants.

Postcard and message suggestions:

I would particularly enjoy a card relating to your country and culture(s) (landscapes, architecture and building interiors, transport, art, traditional clothing, scenes of cultural and historical interest, unusual views, everyday life, etc.), but any card you think I will like will bring me joy.

I'd love to read something about you, your country, your city/town/village, your culture, cultures and traditions of your country, what's on the postcard, what you think about your country's politics etc. I love reading long messages, whatever you choose to write about!

Of course the most important thing is enjoying it, so don't worry—these are just ideas, all will be appreciated!

I have a reasonable reading ability in:

I have some very basic reading ability in:
Afrikaans, Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Icelandic, Japanese, Latin, Lithuanian, Malay, Mandarin Chinese (simplified characters), Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Swahili, Swedish, Toki Pona (Latin alphabet or sitelen pona pi jan Sonja), Tok Pisin, Welsh, Yiddish.

Because I'm struggling with illness at the moment, a lot of these are very rusty, so please forgive me if I'm unable to reply in your language.
