He has been a member for 6 months (180 days).I was raised in Wyoming -- the state with the fewest people in the United States. It is the ninth largest state in the USA, having an area of almost 100,000 square miles. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with degrees in mathematics and economics. I obtained a Ph.d. in economics from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
I recently retired after teaching economics at a small Lutheran college in Minnesota. While teaching I led a number of student study seminars abroad -- mainly to northern Europe and one to Australia/New Zealand.
One of my interests involves genealogy and currently I am trying to find out more details about relatives that I have in Scotland, Northern Germany, The Netherlands, and Switzerland. My wife's relatives come from Stavanger, Norway, and the former Czechoslovakia.
It's a fascinating process to learn more about a person's ancestors and certainly gives you a better sense of the economic, cultural and geographic forces that have affected your life.
I am also interested in hiking and gardening. We now live in Arizona so there are many places to explore. Unfortunately, the gardening is a bit more challenging because of the poor soil and the summer heat which can approach 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
