Hi, my name is Catharina, I live in Maastricht, a beautiful city in the south of the Netherlands.
I love to get to know people from around the world. When I go on vacation, it is NEVER for sun-bathing. Most of the time I'm strolling around in a village or city, contemplating the architecture, looking at all things culturally interesting, enjoying the very different food and of course... trying to get acquainted with the people there. Oh yes, and take lots of photographs.
At home I love to read, preferably fantasy-SF and novels based on history, like the series about Ramses by Christian Jacq.
A big hobby is also playing on the computer (mostly puzzles, 3-in-a-row and hidden object games) and of course look TV. Especially documentaries about nature, science and culture, and comedies.
Also I like making embroideries, mainly patterns of very small cross-stitches with lots of colours, and solving cryptograms.
I wish I could say I also spend a lot of time in my garden, but alas, since I live in an appartment, my only garden is in my dreams. Of course there are quite a number of plants in my appartment and also on the balcony. And because there is a limited space, I only have a little bird as a pet.

* My Chinese horoscope-sign is the Dragon and 2012 is the year of the Dragon, so it would be great to receive some beautiful cards with dragons.
But of course other cards are also very welcome, especially if they are related to my hobbies or interests! *
