I've been collecting and exchanging viewcards, on and off, for more than 30 years. Like many people I started out by collecting unused cards (I still do with some subjects). Then I noticed nice mailed viewcards from other countries with attractive stamps on them. Now I could combine two hobbies - stamp collecting and postcard collecting! Of course, many of the cards had interesting messages too. So when I found PostCrossing, it was exciting to discover a worldwide community of like-minded postcard enthusiasts.
My favorite postcard subjects are city views, aerial views, natural scenery, castles, important buildings, bridges, harbors, and so on. I prefer viewcards that are identified on the front; Continental size (4X6 or 10.5X15cm)in all cases. I don't like these kinds of postcards: Advertising/ Freecards / Rack cards, Animals, Comics / Humor, Home made, Greeting cards, Holiday, Inspirational or religious of any kind, OVERSIZE, People, offensive, and Black & White postcards.
