About Jennifer...

I'm a 30-something living on the East Coast of the United States, in a house in a suburban neighborhood, located about 1 hour southwest of New York City and 1 hour northeast of Philadelphia. There are three major shopping centers (malls) each about 30 minutes away. I live central to everything and close to nothing.

Please, please put the date on the card.
Also, I've found I like to see different stamps. If possible, please use more than 1 style.

Any type of Happy Mail in my postbox is a thrill to receive nowadays with so many different ways to communicate. I most appreciate those with:
maps
local landmarks or buildings,
landscapes,
animals,
people in traditional dress,
cultural aspects (ex food, art)
Christmas/holiday cards in November/December

Something which represents the area and the people in the right here, right now, is a very treasured item.

I enjoy handwritten messages on the opposite side in local languages (with translations into English, please), which remark on something important in the life of the author: could be a local event happening such as a holiday or current event like a political election or weather related or something about family or pets. Love stickers, too.

I adore animals and grew up with a variety of pets including a dog (a Siberian Husky), hamsters, gerbils, mice, fish, and frogs. I am allergic to cats, but still pet them. At the moment, I'm momma to two rescued guinea pigs: Cornelius "Munchie", a 5 year old albino, and Fudge, a 4 year old mix of chocolate shades. Both are very happy, very spoiled animals.

I have collections of siberian huskies, guinea pigs, and sea life. I also love and collect make-up. I like burning candles and use them to decorate my home.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, taking photos, watching sports (esp. baseball and American football), shopping, acting like a kid by playing with fingerpaints, and playing games with my family. Last year, I've also "discovered" a love for The Big Bang Theory (TV show) and property hunting or decorating shows like House Hunters and Property Brothers. So far in 2013 my favorite shows are My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and Downton Abbey.

One of my lifelong desires is to experience and learn about other cultures. I'm fascinated by and majored in history, love to travel, and want to see and know about how people live life in other places. What kinds of routines do you have; how do you spend your time? What sorts of objects do you use on a regular basis and what do they look like? What traditions (if any) do you have fond memories of from years past, and do you continue to make these traditions a part of life? Who is your family?

After spending a year studying abroad in Santiago, Chile, and traveling throughout South America, I have a deeper appreciation for how people are different and yet what is important in life is essentially the same.

Hope to hear from you soon!
