I am 48 years old and live in Kentville, in Nova Scotia's beautiful Annapolis Valley, on the east coast of Canada. I am married to Angela and our son Reid is a student at the University of Kings College in Halifax. We have two charming cats- Sebastian and Tazie. I am a lawyer practicing real estate law, and as well I teach part time at Acadia University in Wolfville. I have run seven marathons in my life, write novels (for my own amusement), enjoy watching team sports (football-Packers!, hockey-Leafs!, baseball-Blue Jays! and basketball-Lakers!) and playing Texas Hold'em. I am a big fan of Sookie Stackhouse and True Blood. I also enjoy epic/historical novels- just finished New York by Edward Rutherford.
We have travelled throughout Canada, through the New England States, and have been to Chicago, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. My spouse and I have great plans to travel in the future- Europe hopefully will be soon! Until that time, postcards allow me to travel to the four corners of the World, from the comfort of my own home.
I enjoy all types of postcards, but have a particular interest in:

Something different- colorful,wild or wacky
Famous people (entertainers, politicians, historical figures, writers, musicians, royalty)
Famous paintings by the Masters
Old cartoons/caricatures
Sports themes-stadiums/players/teams
Business/financial/stock markets
Neat beach/surf scenes
Castles and old buildings
Universities
Russian history and architecture
Old vintage black and white scenes
Map cards.
My spouse and I are big Anne of Green Gables fans, and I note there are many others World-wide on Postcrossing. I have a large variety of Anne and PEI postcards. If you are interesting in starting/building your collection, and getting some insights into the whole Anne experience, just send me an email and we can arrange some swaps.
Postcards appeal to me so much because they forever capture a moment in time- through the picture, the message, the date, the stamp, the postmark, even the bends in the card.
I really enjoy the Postcrossing system- discovering who my next postcard will go to, and seeing where the next one will arrive from. I am open, on occasion, to both private swaps and regular exchanges to advance my collecting goals and those of other members.
