Hi,

I'm Dutch, but the last 8 years I have been living abroad (first in France, now in the French speaking part of Belgium).
Well, Holland and the beautiful town of Maastricht are just 'around the corner' from where I live now (about 50 km, 30 miles), but still: I'm an 'expat'.

Being Dutch and this close to the border, I may send cards showing sites from The Netherlands as well as Belgium though. Hope you don't mind! I especially like views of Maastricht. I have been a Bookcrosser (www.bookcrossing.com) for five years now and I love it. If you like books, you should try it! My BC screenname is 'bestfriends' because I think 'Books can be your Best Friends'. I thought it might be nice to join Postcrossing too. I have choosen (almost) the same username here, but would like to point out that it has nothing to do with Best Friends Bears!

My taste in postcards

I like:
- any funny and unusual cards
- cats (no fluffy kittens please!)
- food/recipes
- book-related (quotes, homes of famous writers, stags of books)
- Moomin
- Kaj Stenvall
- arty cards ('nouvelles images' - 'art unlimited')
- tasteful view-cards
- vintage advertisements (nice free add cards welcome too)

If you can't upload an image, don't worry, I will.

You also could have a look at my favourites for more inspiration. However, if you can't find anything suitable (it could be difficult in your country): I'm happy with all the cards I receive and I appreciate every word written on them.

What better not to send me:
- 'cute' cards (like Hello Kitty, Ann Geddes and Best Friend Bears)
- the scrap-book kind of home-made cards

I myself will always try to find something special for you if you have any preferences mentioned in your profile, but it will not always be possible! Somehow Belgium does not seem to have many beautiful or special stamps either. The regular ones, featuring a flower or the King of Belgium will often be all I can get :-)
