About Amelie...

Hi,
my name is Amelie and I am a 7 year old girl.
I started school in autumn 2010.
My mum and my sister participate postcrossing and now I wanted to send and receive postcards too.

I love all animals. When I grow up I want to have my own farm and lots of animals. I also would love to have a unicorn and a pegasus there and 53 dogs.
My favourite color is green, but I like all other colors too.
My hobbies are playing with my sister, singing, drawing, swimming, ice skating, trampolining...
When I was almost 5 I started to learn reading all by myself and I love it!
I collect Filly Ponies, Littlest Pets and Schleich Bayala figurines.

I just learned how to write so I hope you like my drawings too. :)

I'd like to receive animals card, childrens illustrations, cute cards, ...

Amy's story: Amelie is no longer able to write her postcards herself, as she suffers from multiple anxiety disorders. She needs a special therapy to help her to learn to get back to normal life. She is afraid of suffocating while eating (and of many other things) so she stopped eating food that has to be chewed on Dec. 16th,09. She lost a 1/4 of her weight and became very weak. We hope she gets help soon, but its difficult to find a therapist specialized on young children. She still loves to receive postcards, so I started to write her cards. (erlkoenigstochter, mum) 8.3.10
Amelie got her therapy place, now waiting for results, we've been told this will last months :( 20.3.10
Amelie started eating again! Very slow and not many different things, but eshe eats. Now her body has to get used to food again. She is gaining weight and strength. Her other fears (afraid of going by car and dying in an accident, fire/candles burning her, trees falling down on her,...) are much better too. She even played in the garden again. The therapist warns about steps backwards, but we're hoping the best. 30.4.10
What everybody was afraid of happened. Amelie again stopped eating, has panic attacks - even worse this time. 14.8.10
No news. Amelie started to pull out her hair when she's nervous. 3.12.10
AMELIE IS EATING AGAIN!!!!!!!
In January a new therapy started. Amy also got an MRT and other tests and in the end we were told that her body is healthy. All her pain is mental - what we knew before...
She made great progress and if you saw her now you won't see marks of the last year.
She is able to enjoy life again. She learned to ride a bike and she even took a swimming class in school and is happy again- first time for months.
