About Alin...

Nice to see you here :)

I study history at the History Faculty of the University of Bucharest. My domain is that of contemporary history, and my specialty and passion is military history (in the form of military thought and history of military art and organization :P). Beside this, other passion of mine is numismatics, but I have no time to study it at the moment so I am just gathering books on it;)).

The word of order regarding the postcards I would like to receive is ART. Art means that every single pixel of the postcard you send has to have a meaning. When you see a line, a word, a margin or anything else on a postcard and want to know if that postcard is an object of art you have to put this question: “What is the meaning of this (line, margin, word, etc, etc..)?” and a second helpful question: “Would have Michelangelo, Monet or van Gogh put this (line, margin, word, etc, etc..) in their paintings?” This is the absolute prerequisite...

Now about the subjects of the postcards I would like to receive.. As you can see in my favorites they vary greatly as many things commit themselves to art. I can say that I like motives which speak about the greatness and magnificence of history and culture and, sometimes, of the nature.

- Personalities shown in the glory of their occupations or in official portraits,
- People of classical and harmonious beauty which follow a cultural vocation,
- Works of art from various nations, styles and schools
- Beautiful girls with elegance, attitude and slenderness of spirit & intellect. :)
- Transport means which stood both as a great technical and artistical achievement (no Lisboa trams, or Amish carts as they don’t fit in this two categories :)) ),
- Cultural advertisement postcards issued on occasions such as a museum exhibitions, art galleries exhibitions, various conferences and conventions (only with cultural or scientific purpose), celebrations (centenaries and other anniversaries of cultural associations and bodies), cultural campaigns, etc, etc
- Postal stationery cards (issued by your country’s postal administration, both new and old), First Day Cover maximum-cards and other maximum-cards made with commemorative or regular cancellations.
- Postcards depicting nature scenes of absolute authenticity, purity and beauty; melancholic sunsets and sunrise, peisages whit ethereal atmosphere, noble animals in noble and authentic circumstances
- Pieces of cardboard on which you’ve written a thought you have or the state of your soul, something that bothers and saddens you or something that makes you happy, or on which you draw something (even if you don’t know how to draw:) ).

These are only some ideas.. You can have a direct image of what kind of postcards I like looking at my favorites.

Let it be noted that my favorite colors are blue and black. :P
Take care,Alin.:P

P.S. Please do not send me postcards in envelope. Write the address by hand.
