Hello stranger...

My name is Veronika, I am 22 and live in a small town near Munich. I study translation and interpretation into English and Spanish and that is also what I like about postcrossing: The possibility to learn something about foreign people, cultures and languages and the fact that every new card widens my horizone.
In my freetime I enjoy cooking, reading (my favourite writers are Stephen King and J.K.Rowling), going to the cinema, meeting my friends and my boyfriend, swimming and learning new languages. "Alegria" means joy in Spanish since I was living in Spain when I joined postcrossing and this feeling describes my entire character.

Among my favourite postcardthemes are:
- llama / alpaca cards (You would make me so happy by sending such a card. I love these animals!)
- cuisine ( You could also send me your favourite recipes and I promise I'll try to cook them :)
- books and bookshelves
- Unescco
- Moomins
- Cards of the Russian series: Russian instruments, clothes, holidays,.. (I am half Russian but unfortunately don't know much about the country :( Maybe you can teach me something?)
- people in their traditional costumes
- black and white cards
- language-related cards (different alphabets etc).
- festivals which are celebrated in your country
- monarchy
- US presidents (especially Obama and J.F. Kennedy)
- Nouvelle images (many little pictures)
- Ferris Wheels
- globes (our cards travel through the entire world :)
- vintage cards
- map cards (in particular from US states!)
- shaped cards
- TV shows (my favourite shows are Desperate Housewives, The Simpsons, Southpark, The Big Bang Theory, King of Queens and the German shows Doctor's Diary and Pastewka)
- cards with animals that are typical of your country (This doesn't mean the usual cat or dog cards but for example a kangaroo, panda or reindeer if you are from a region where these animals live :)
- Pippi Longstocking (my childhood heroine)
- Matryoshkas / Russian nesting dolls

If you don't have any of these cards it's no problem :).. Just send me a normal viewcard of your area (I'd prefer single views but multiviews are also okay). But please don't send me any ad cards, handmade cards or folding cards unless you think that I would really like them (for example an ad card with a lama would be wonderful). And please write some words about yourself, the card or your country on the card. Thank you very much :)
