From the sender Selina to my inquiry of the building: The historical spot on the postcard I sent you is called "Bo-Pi-Liao," which means "peeling shack." It is said that, in 1850s, wood merchants shiped trees from main land China here to be peeled and sold, thus Bo-Pi-Liao gradually became a prosperous commercial district in the center of Taipei City. The architecture here was significantly influenced by the western culture, and is now a protected historical site of the city goverment.
