When Christine (aka Chriz) joined Postcrossing back in 2009, she would had never guessed where it would lead her. She loved postcards but quickly discovered that she also really liked to make her own cards, especially through collages…
Everyone seemed to like receiving her special made creations, so she decided to print them and open a webshop! Things were going well and half a year later, a publisher found her cards on a local bookstore and got in touch with a business proposal. These days, By Kris cards are sold all over the Netherlands (and also abroad), in giftstores and bookshops, both online and offline!
In her own words:
I think it’s amazing how one step can lead to another. Yes, it was scary and yes it was exciting, but I learned to believe in myself and not to be afraid of challenges.

The cards a awesome! I joined Postcrossing a few weeks ago an am suprised how dificult it is to find suitable cards. All of Kris' cards are very charming, but "Lady in blue" is the most wonderful and inspiring. :)

especial the airmail card with a stamp of young queen Wilhelmina, and the kiss-card with the stamp of queen Juliana on it.

My favourite would be the "Pink" card, I like the roses at the bottom and the little stamps emerging from it. And the child in flower dress is perfect. :)

My favorite By Kris is one card from the postcrossing collection. It's named special delivery and it shows all kind of stamps with a heart with two birds in the middle. For me it stands for the love of getting mail.

The postcards are very whimsical, and have a wonderful fairy-tale like quality to them. My favorite would be "Happy,"with a white dove carrying love mail :) it's the perfect denotation of a "happily ever after," which is exactly how I feel, having gotten married mere two months ago :)))

I love these postcards. The use of 'poezieplaatjes' makes me feel very nostalgic; I used to collect them a lot when I was little.
I like "Special Delivery" with the old stamps and the heart in the centre; I also like the single postcard "Happy" because of the lovely colours and composition.

Amazing! And so remarkable that this whole thing started from signing up here to exchange postcards :) My favorite is "Happy". I love the cute little couple, and the added details like the bird inside of the heart, and all of the beautiful flowers (especially in the picnic basket). I could see hanging many of these on my walls!

I like the "Airmail" postcard best as it shows the different "airmail labels" from around the world, along with the theme of travel depicted by the luggage, of course as a postcrosser the stamped postcard tops it off. All in all a 1st class design.

Wow! I like them all! But my favorites are Let's party, because I recognise the background pattern (origami paper!) and Airmail, for obvious reasons. :-)

Special Delivery - Just because every postcard I receive feels like a special delivery, that someone has taken the time to write and sent it to me..
There are several I like but I think "Retro Wedding" is my favorite.
All the cards are wonderful but just edging it for me is 'Lady in Blue' as blue is my favourite colour. Well done to Christine and may you go from strength to strength.

though she looks simple, she looks so pure, innocent and happy. it brings out the romantic girl in me.

I love the Hoera set, it reminds me of my childhood and my beloved "poezie-albumn", a little albumn filled with short poems by family&friends. It's more or less gone out of fashion, kidz nowadays have "friendship booklets", your friends are supposed to fill in preprinted questions. Not nearly as quaint as the "poezie-album", but hey, I'm a sucker for these kinds of things... :)

I follow Kris for a while now on her blog 'By Kris'. She is so talented amd makes also beautiful paintings next to these great vintage look cards.
Would love to win a set of her cards. They are all so cute and colourfull. I love the bright colours and the vintage images. But when I follow my gut feeling the card 'Kiss' is the one my eye is drawn to.

It was very hard to choose just one card from such a beautiful selection, but in the end I chose "Gipsy". It is colourful and friendly and it would surely brighten up anybody's day, who receives such a lovely and cheerful card.
airmail is my favourite one. When I look at it, I thought that could girl could be myself, travelling around the world thanks to those airplane companies. If that girl was able to do that (i suppose so ahaha), when I cant do the same thing? ;)
